Waiting for the Las Vegas Grand Tournament
Hi everyone
We have only a few days (9 in all) before the Las Vegas Grand Tournament 08 kicks off at the Treasure Island Hotel! It has been very exciting preparing for the event, and we know that over 250 of you are very excited too.
We are opening registration in the Treasure Island Ballroom from 12 noon on Friday until 8pm. We will be opening it again on Saturday morning from 8am until 9am when the dice start rolling.
We also know that sometimes even the best laid plans go awry and people are unable to make the trip. If this is the case with you, please send an email to dave.taylor at games-workshop.com as soon as you know you can’t make it.
Waiting List People
We currently have quite a few people on waiting lists who are already heading to Las Vegas anyway. The way we will handle their possible registration is this:
- Those ticket holders NOT REGISTERED by 8:30 am on Saturday, September 6th will be assumed to be not attending the event.
- We will begin selling those unattended slots to those on the waiting lists
- We will sell them in order of waiting list priority, ie. if you are first on the waiting list you will be the first offered the unattended slot.
So, if you are a Ticket Holder, please register BEFORE 8:30am on Saturday (we have 8 hours of registration on Friday afternoon). If you are on the waiting list, please ensure you are at the Treasure Island Ballroom by 8:30am at the very latest. Unattended slots will then be sold.
Hopefully that clears everything up, particularly for those on the waiting list, and please feel free to post this on any and all forums frequented by those attending the Las Vegas GT 08.
Cheers
Dave Taylor
GW US Community Development Manager
Brett McDavid, 1981-2008
Over the weekend we learned that we lost another member of our community at a very young age of 27, to a fatal fire. It was less than a month ago we were working with Brett at our Chicago Games Day. This will be the second time in a year we’ve lost a valued community member to a home fire.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LCCC Foundation, in memory of Brett A. McDavid, C/O 1005 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
This is a stark reminder to please remember to check all your fire alarms, that their batteries are fresh, that a fire evacuation plan is in place, and that there are clear escape routes through all windows, hallways, and doors.
